Early Life and Career
DiJonai Carrington was born on January 8, 1998, in San Diego, California. She began playing basketball at an early age and quickly emerged as a talented player.
Carrington attended Mission Bay High School in San Diego, where she led the team to two CIF San Diego Section Division III championships. She was named the San Diego Section Player of the Year in 2016.
College Career
After graduating from high school, Carrington committed to play college basketball for Stanford University. In her freshman season, she averaged 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
After two seasons at Stanford, Carrington transferred to Baylor University. She made an immediate impact, averaging 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in her junior season.
In her senior season, Carrington helped lead Baylor to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. She was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and the All-American Honorable Mention Team.
WNBA Career
Carrington was selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. She quickly became a key contributor, averaging 9.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in her rookie season.
In her second season, Carrington has continued to play a significant role for the Sun. She is averaging 11.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game through the first half of the season.
